For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confess unto salvation.

That is all the work required to be saved.

Now, keeping in fellowship with God requires work just like any other relationship. Spend 1 hour 3 times a week with your spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend and see how long the relationship lasts. The work we do to maintain our relationship with God isn't for His benefit but for ours. And as far as work is concerned; work is the demonstration of our faith. Faith without works is dead.

Romans spends a great deal of time discussing what we would call the unfaithful servant. What I take away from my studies on the subject is that people who practice sin are probably not saved. Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. One thing you can bank on for absolutely certain is this: If you are born again and devote your entire life to God and doing His work you won't need to worry about where you will end up.

You should visit "At the Cross and Beyond" at mal310wrt.com. God would never call an unbeliev...I agree with you. God would never call an unbeliever His 'servant'. So an unfaithful servant is exactly what it sounds like. A servant of God who has not led a faithful life.

It troubles me that this is so controversial when its plain to see from many Bible passages.

In Christ,

Jerod Santosant0sk1https://www.blogger.com/profile/12424537159768466404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3829197696544148656.post-59458621589149304672008-08-15T15:48:00.000-05:002008-08-15T15:48:00.000-05:00I love you!
